Opened in 2020 to welcome
the world high above Rio — Restaurante Morro da Urca.

The name carries more than a century of affectionate memory: in the 1920s to 1950s, the Rio press called "embaixada carioca" every delegation of notables that left Rio to represent the city to the world. Today, the Restaurante Morro da Urca reverses this logic: the world comes to Rio — and Embaixada is up there to welcome it.

Among restaurants with a view in Rio de Janeiro, Embaixada Carioca holds a unique position: the only restaurant with a direct view of Sugarloaf Mountain, at the cable car's first stop, 227 metres above sea level. Architecture by Engelhaus Arquitetura and visual identity by Refinaria Design — with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Sugarloaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay.
